    Wedding Band

    Wedding Guide

We know that this is your big day, the day that you share with the love of your life. And you are so happy to share your special day with close family and friends. But to be honest, as happy as your guests are for you, what they are really looking forward to the most on your wedding day is a great meal and some great entertainment. And if you really want to wow them in the entertainment arena, there is absolutely nothing like a live band. Live music can energize a crowd and get people moving on the dance floor. If it is a high quality professional band, the sound will resonate as the band chooses different types of songs for different needs. For instance, you will probably have a slower tempo groove going on while you and your spouse dance your first dance. But they will also know when to kick things in high gear and get the crowd jamming. And don't forget about your need for an emcee. There are live bands out there in the Salt Lake City area that can do it all. Your task is to find that kind of band. We suggest that you take your time as you search for this all important vendor. Just follow the brief guide below and you should be able to narrow down your search to an amazing entertainment choice for your big day.

Whoever your end up considering to play at your wedding, make sure that you get to see them live. If the band is any good, they should have more gigs than just weddings. So find out when and where they are appearing and take in a show. This is a very worthwhile investment. You will be able to check out their stage presence and experience how they impact a crowd. But you also need to pick out the style of the band you are seeking. There are many different genres out there, You could pick a tribute band or a band that represents a certain era like the 80s or 90s. There are also bands that specialize in the style of music that they play like big band. But if you want our honest opinion, you should really think the style of your band out before you make a decision. Keep in mind that the people that are going to be attending your wedding as guests more than likely range through all ages and likes and dislikes. So, the more that you can placate the majority of your guests the better. So your best bet is to find a live band that can play a wide repertoire. This will make grandma and grandpa happy and isn't that important to you. The last thing that you want is for your guests to start looking for the exits. And one more thing. Just because a live band is competent at playing music does not mean that they would be a great wedding band. You must find someone with wedding experience. The reason for this is because you need a group that understand the flow of wedding events. You will probably want them to be your emcee as well so discuss what they can do for you in that regard.

Make sure that you ask any band that you interview what kind of sound equipment they use. Will it be sufficient for the size venue that you have booked? Do they even have equipment that would be perfect for your venue. Perhaps the venue has sound equipment they could use as well. See if they will coordinate everything with your venue. Also, find out what they will need in terms of electrical hookups. If there is no way that you can see them live, but you still have an interest in them, see if you can watch some videos of live performances. Also, make sure that the people you are interviewing are actually members of the band and not just representatives.

Some bands have a tendency to play everything way too loud. See if they understand the concept of knowing what level to play certain songs at. For instance, if they are supposed to play during a portion of your reception where people are eating or talking, they should know to keep the volume on a lower level at this point so people can hear each other. You want a band that is sensitive to this. How much to you actually like the group? Do they seem like they are easy to get along with? Do they seem to have a genuine interest in making your wedding better? What is required to reserve their services? At this point, you should be able to differentiate between the bands that you have interviewed in order to feel good about the one candidate that will make your reception an amazing success.
